It was an institution for the Greeks to welcome and treat foreigners. They particularly believed in the idea of hospitality and considered it a moral duty and a sacred rule of the gods (Xenios Zeus was the patron).
That is why foreigners, as sent by the gods, were considered holy, honored and respected persons. The word hospitality (φιλοξενία) is one of the thousands of words that we have used invariably since ancient times.

Children Classes
The younger the kids are, the easier it is for them to learn. Learning Ancient Greek is as easy as learning any other foreign language (e.g. English).
Learning is achieved through lots of games, crafts, theatrical events and hands-on activities. This way learning becomes a really enjoyable procedure.
Usually children adapt very quickly. However, it would be best for the child to attend a trial lesson before joining the group. This way, both the child and his/her teacher are able to decide whether he/she is able to attend the class now, or start fresh at the beginning of the next school year.
The beginners’ classes are for children who start this year for the first time. These take place every Friday 17:00-18:30 or every Saturday 10:00-11:30. If the child attends the 6th grade of primary school or 1st grade of junior high school, he/she is directly placed into the Homer class, which takes place every Friday 6:30-8:00pm or every Saturday 11:30am-1:00pm.
No, all the work is done in the classroom. The only requirement is that the child does not miss classes.
Adults Classes
No problem! All our courses are also streamed online, so you won’t miss a single lesson. There is a camera in the classroom and all students who watch remotely are essentially as if they were in the classroom. Classes can be viewed either live, while taking place, or recorded, at any time during your subscription period.
Connecting is so simple that no computer knowledge is needed. You can view the course just by visiting our website ellinikiagogi.gr and entering your password. So simple!
No. Since there are too many students, answering the questions would require a whole second lesson. What you can do, however, is send an email to the school. Your literature teacher will answer your questions, in writing, soon.
Sure. Using the code you will receive, you will be able to watch previous courses, as well.
